Journalist Tharindu Uduwaragedara grilled by CID for 3 hours

Journalist Tharindu Uduwaragedara was grilled by the CID for more than 3 hours today over a recent press conference he participated in.

Uduwaragedara received a summons to appear before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today at 10:30 am.

The purpose of his summons is to provide a statement regarding a remark he made during a press conference hosted at the Centre for Society and Religion in Maradana on 29 May.

During the conference, Uduwaragedara expressed his opinion that the apprehension of comedian Nathasha Edirisooriya, who stands accused of disrespecting Buddhism, was an erroneous action.
