“I’m not resigning over few protests”: Keheliya

Minister of Health, Keheliya Rambukwella, firmly stated that he will not resign from his ministerial position solely based on the demands of a small group of individuals.

In an interview on TV Derana’s ‘360°’ program on Monday night (17 July), the Minister emphasized that he takes the matter seriously and refuses to downplay it. He expressed his readiness to confront those attempting to undermine the free healthcare system.

When asked about the identity of the alleged “conspirator” behind the mentioned attack, Rambukwella admitted that he is unaware of their identity. However, he assured that they are actively collaborating with the relevant institutions and teams to address the situation. The Minister added that if he had any knowledge about the conspirator, he would have already handed them over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
