Salley Vs Fr. Cyril Gamini: Case deferred to ext January

On Monday (4), the defamation lawsuit brought forth by Major General Suresh Salley, the Director-General of the State Intelligence Service, against Reverend Father Cyril Gamini Fernando for allegedly making a defamatory statement during an online session, was called before Colombo Chief District Judge Sandun Vithana.

The case was deferred to 25 January 2024.

Major General Suresh Salley seeks Rs. 50 million in damages through this case, which is rooted in a statement made by Reverend Father Cyril Gamini Fernando during an online forum on 23 October 2021, discussing the 2019 Easter Attacks.
