Nearly 100 Complaints Filed Ahead of Presidential Election: EC

The Election Commission has reported receiving a total of 99 complaints between July 31 and August 5 related to the upcoming Presidential election

A media release from the Commission indicated that all complaints involved breaches of election laws, with no incidents of violence or other types of complaints reported.

The National Centre for Election Complaint Management received 68 complaints, while the District Centres for Election Complaint Management received 31.

Commissioner General of Elections, Saman Sri Rathnayake, affirmed that the Election Commission is actively addressing these complaints to ensure a fair and transparent electoral process.
