AG Responds to Controversy Over Lasantha Wickrematunge Case

Attorney General today (7 February) issued a statement addressing the backlash over his recent directive to release three suspects linked to journalist Lasantha Wickrematunge’s murder. 

The Attorney General’s Department clarified that the individuals named in the 27 January letter to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) were not suspects in Wickrematunge’s murder but were connected to a separate matter.
