Several Senior Police Officers including STF Commandant transferred

Senior DIG Waruna Jayasundara, who has been serving as the Commandant of the Police Special Task Force (STF), has been transferred to the Eastern Province, effective February 12, 2025.

DIG D.G.S. De Silva is set to take over as the new STF Commandant from February 12, 2025.

Along with DIG Waruna Jayasundara, five Senior Deputy Inspector Generals (SDIGs) and several other DIGs have also been transferred with the approval of the National Police Commission.

It is also reported that several Officers-in-Charge (OICs) are expected to be transferred.
