Deputy Minister Assures No Fuel Shortage in the Country

Labour Minister and Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Prof. Anil Jayantha Fernando, assured that there is no fuel shortage in the country, despite long queues forming at fuel stations.
Addressing Parliament today (01), Prof. Fernando claimed that an organized group is attempting to create an artificial crisis to mislead the public. He urged people not to panic, emphasizing that the country has sufficient fuel reserves.
The queues emerged after the Petroleum Dealers Association rejected a new commission formula proposed by the government. Fuel station owners have raised concerns over rising operational costs and are demanding a revision of the commission structure.
