Court Imposes Travel Ban on Prasanna Ranaweera

The Mahara Magistrate’s Court has imposed an overseas travel ban on former State Minister Prasanna Ranaweera and two others, Sarath Kumara Edirisinghe and Milroy Perera, who are currently absconding in connection with an illegal land sale case.

The case involves allegations of selling state-owned land in the Kiribathgoda area to a private party using a forged documents.

Meanwhile, former Minister Mervyn Silva, who is also implicated in the case, has been further remanded until March 24. He was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on March 5 over the alleged illegal land sale.

The travel ban aims to prevent Prasanna Ranaweera and others from fleeing the country as investigations continue.
