CEB signs PPA for 350 MW Sahasdhanavi Power Plant

The Ceylon Electricity Board has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for 350 MW Sahasdhanavi Combined Cycle Power Plant, which will operate using Re-gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (R-LNG).

The plant was approved by Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka, which will soon commence construction, and which will be built , owned and operated by Sahasdhanavi Limited, CEB said in a statement.

The ownership of the plant will be transferred to CEB after completion of 25 years.

The plant will deliver electricity to the national grid within 30 months in Open Cycle operation, transitioning to full Combined Cycle operations after an additional 12 months.
