Actor Saif Ali Khan Hospitalized Following Knife Attack at Mumbai Residence
Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, 54, was hospitalized early Thursday morning after being stabbed six times by an intruder at his Bandra residence in Mumbai.
The incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. when an unidentified individual broke into Khan’s 11th-floor apartment. Upon confronting the intruder, a scuffle ensued, resulting in Khan sustaining multiple stab wounds, including one near his spine.
Khan was immediately transported to Lilavati Hospital by his son, Ibrahim, and a caretaker. Dr. Niraj Uttamani, the hospital’s Chief Operating Officer, reported that Khan had six stab wounds, two of which are deep, with one close to the spinal cord. The actor underwent surgery to assess and treat the injuries.
The Bandra police, along with the Mumbai crime branch, have launched an investigation into the attack. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone X) Dikshit Gedam stated that the assailant fled the scene after the incident. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage to determine how the intruder accessed the apartment and have detained three individuals for questioning.
Khan’s family members, including his wife, actress Kareena Kapoor, and their two children, were present during the incident but were unharmed. The actor’s team has requested privacy and patience from fans, emphasizing that the matter is under police investigation.
