Duminda Silva Admitted to Colombo National Hospital After Transfer to Welikada Prison
Former Member of Parliament Duminda Silva, who was moved from the prison hospital to a regular cell at Welikada Prison on 10 January, has been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital due to a recurring illness just hours after his arrival.
Silva had previously been treated at a private hospital in Colombo and later at Jayewardenepura Hospital. Following his release through a presidential pardon granted by former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Silva appeared to recover swiftly and resumed work as the Chairman of the National Housing Development Authority.
However, after the Supreme Court annulled the presidential pardon, Silva’s health reportedly deteriorated again, leading to ongoing hospitalisation.
