GMOA to Launch Island-wide Strike on March 5

A nationwide strike has been announced by the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) on March 5, protesting the government’s decision to reduce doctors’ allowances.

According to the GMOA, the 2025 budget introduces significant cuts to the additional duty and holiday allowances of government medical officers.

The association warns that this move will severely impact the healthcare sector, as hospital operations and patient services across the country are likely to face disruptions.

The GMOA has also issued a warning, stating that if their demands are not met by March 6, they will intensify their trade union action from March 7 onward.
