Indian Prime Minister Modi to visit Sri Lanka on April 5

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka for an official visit on April 5, 2025, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake announced in Parliament yesterday (21) during the final day of the Third Reading debate on the 2025 Budget. 

The President stated that construction work on the Sampur Power Plant will commence in conjunction with the Indian Prime Minister’s visit.

He also emphasized that a foreign Head of State visiting Sri Lanka demonstrates the stability of the country.
