NTC to Introduce Passenger Rights List for Safer Bus Travel

The National Transport Commission (NTC) has initiated preparations to compile a list of passenger rights aimed at ensuring the safety of bus passengers.

The proposed list will incorporate conditions outlined in the operating licences issued by the NTC and provincial councils for buses.

Speaking to Ada Derana, NTC Chairman Bandura Dileepa Witharana stated that a final decision would be reached following consultations with bus associations and passenger organizations.

He further noted that steps are being taken to secure the job stability of private bus drivers and conductors.
