Price of bread increased

The price of a loaf of bread will be increased by Rs. 30/- while the price of other bakery products will increase by Rs.10 from midnight today (19) says the Bakery Owners Association of Sri Lanka.

Accordingly, a loaf of bread will cost Rs. 170/- from tonight, while the prices of other bakery items will be increased according to the respective bakery rates, the association added.

The prices of bakery items are being increased after Prima Ceylon (Pvt) Limited announced a hike in the price of its wheat flour.

The company said that it has increased the price of its wheat flour by Rs. 40 per kilogram
