Three Killed in Violent Clash in Ambalantota

Three people have been killed in a violent attack in the Mamadala area of Ambalantota on Friday, police said. The victims, aged 29, 34, and 45, were hacked to death around 7:30 p.m.

According to preliminary investigations, a group of six has stormed a house and attacked three occupants with sharp weapons. One victim has died at the scene, while the other two have succumbed to their injuries after being hospitalized.

Authorities suspect the attack has stemmed from a dispute between rival factions allegedly involved in the illicit liquor trade.

Police have launched an investigation to identify and arrest the suspects.
