Vote on No-Confidence Motion Against Keheliya Today

The vote on the no-confidence motion against Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella is scheduled to be held today (08).The vote is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., as announced by the The Communication Department of Parliament.

The motion of no-confidence was introduced in response to concerns about Rambukwella’s alleged neglectful behavior as the Health Minister.

The main opposition has raised serious allegations against him, accusing of importing substandard medicines and surgical equipment without adhering to proper procurement and registration processes.

This motion of no-confidence was recently brought forward by opposition MPs, including those from the Samagi Jana Balawegaya.

In addition to the parliamentary proceedings, Mr. Ranjith Maddumabandara, the General Secretary of the Samagi Janabalawegaya Party, joined the debate yesterday and stated his plans to pursue legal action against government officials involved in covering up the health crisis.
