Wele Suda, wife Sentenced to Eight Years Rigorous Imprisonment

Gampola Vidanage Samantha Kumara, widely known as Wele Suda, his wife, and another woman have been sentenced to eight years of rigorous imprisonment by the Colombo High Court.

The trio faced charges under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act for amassing property worth millions of rupees through heroin trafficking. After an extensive trial, High Court Judge Aditya Patabandige delivered the verdict.

The court also imposed fines on the defendants and ordered the confiscation of their unlawfully acquired wealth, including property, money, and gold.
